What is AKY Taco Week?
Visit Ashland has partnered with Ashland for Change to bring awareness and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. What better way to celebrate than embracing the culture's delicious food, drinks, music, and art? Because Taco Tuesday isn’t enough, we’ve asked some of Ashland’s most popular, locally-owned restaurants to bring you an entire week of specialty tacos for as low as just $3.00 each, be on the lookout for featured drinks or desserts at some locations!
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us and wrap up your Taco Week with Latin Night Live! at Broadway Square on Friday, October 8 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Enjoy a night of Latin music, food, drinks, art, and culture.
How to participate in Taco Week?
Each participating location and the Ashland Visitors Center has been given a limited amount of taco week tour guides. At the end of your meal, the restaurant host/server will stamp their location. Once you complete at least 3 restaurant stops, you become eligible to virtually submit your passport for a chance to win one of two giveaways! For additional entries, follow and tag us on social media! Be sure to submit your taco week tour guide by midnight on Saturday, October 9th for a chance to win! Winning participants will be randomly selected and notified on Monday, October 11th.
What is the incentive for keeping up with my Tour Guide?
It wouldn’t be a proper Visit AKY event without some awesome giveaways! The grand prize winner will receive everything you need for the perfect taco night including a Margaritaville Margarita Maker, Taco Tuesday Crock-Pot, and a Taco Tuesday Heated Lazy Susan Topping Bar. We will also have a second-place prize and we will be giving door prizes away as we visit participating locations.
The Grand Prize winner will be randomly selected from all entries and notified by messenger on October 12, 2021.
Rules to participate in the contest:
1. Visit and eat tacos at three participating locations.
2. Obtain a Tour Guide and get it stamped at the end of your meal.
2. Show proof by sharing your experience on your Facebook or Instagram, or submit your completed Taco Week Tour Guide here.
3. Tag your photos with the following: #AKYTacoWeek and #VisitAKY
4. Vote for the most creative taco in our poll. One vote, per customer, per visit.

We are so excited for our first ever TACO week! As with any “first”, there will be some trial and error, so we have listed a few things to keep in mind to set everyone up for a fun and successful week.
Be patient. Be kind.
We hope our local restaurants will be busy and you may have to wait. If they run out of the special offerings toward the end of the night, be kind and thank them for working so hard. Come back another night during the week and try again.
Buy other food and drinks.
The only requirement to enjoy Taco Week is eating tacos, but purchasing appetizers, sides, and drinks will help our local restaurants and is an easy way to say thank you and show support.
Be sure to tip.
You are getting a special price on a menu item that has been created specifically for this event. Let the staff know they are appreciated for working during this crazy time in the industry. Please tip at least 20%.
Dine in or take out.
All Taco Week restaurants offer take out options. If you are not comfortable dining in, order your tacos(s) to go. You can always have a picnic at the Riverfront, Broadway Square or Central Park.
